Designer Clothing in Plus Sizes

Do you remember a time when models and actresses did not have bones protruding from their skinny bodies? The press and media did not continuously monitor their weight and their clothing sizes. But even then plus sizes in clothing were hard to come by.

The clothing plus size retailers did offer were not fashionable at all. That was then. Now is a completely different story and one with a happy ending.

Twenty years ago women who were larger had very limited choices when it came to plus size lingerie, plus size bras, plus size swimwear, plus size dresses and office attire.

Sweat pants or men's sizes were typically the clothing plus size women had to seek out. It was a sad day for fashion minded divas who wanted to wear fashionable attire for a night out on the town or to the office. Designers just didn't create plus size apparel.

But as the world's waistline has expanded and more designers are seeing the added benefit of selling larger clothing to willing consumers, they have designed entire lines based on the plus size woman's needs.

Office attire, lingerie, costumes and even shoes have become huge selling points in the clothing market. Plus size women are willing to pay a bit more for a brand they know will fit right and be fashionable.
